Office For Mac Unable To Paste Values

 admin

-I created a brand new blank document. I could copy and paste into that without a problem. But I could not copy and paste from that to a saved document. Once I saved that same document to the desktop, I could no longer copy and paste from it or into it. If I opened a second brand new Excel document before saving, once again I could copy and paste into it without a problem. -It's the same case whether the documents are 97-2003 (.xls) or if they're 2007 (.xlsx) or a mixture.

I went to this link downloaded the fix tool and ran it on the file I was having the same issues as cannot paste and to many stles this removed these errors which was a build up over time of using the same sheet over and over monthly. Once cleaned everything is working as it should. The Show Paste Options button when content is pasted option needs to be checked. You can also set a default paste type for several different scenarios from this options page. You can also set a default paste type for several different scenarios from this options page.

The dragging issue must be another problem because it seemed to happen in all my workbooks, not only in the failing one. However after closing Excel and reopening just the failing workbook, dragging 1,2 to get a series was once again working, both in the failing workbook and in another fresh one I opened. I could not get it to fail again. I hope this helps somebody at Microsoft look into both issues. I hope they can fix this but in the mean time this was my work around: 1. Make Clipboard visible under Home tab 2.

Creating a, remember about the following limitations: • In Excel 2016, Excel 2013, Excel 2010 and Excel 2007, you can use up to 64 nested functions. • In Excel 2003 and lower, only up to 7 nested functions can be used.

I have a suspicion that this stuck clipboard is a bug in OS X Mavericks 10.9 – I don’t recall it happening before I installed that. It is still an (infrequent) current problem as at 10.9.2. The above didn’t fix mine, either. THIS FIXED MINE: Using Copy or Cut to Delete the Clipboard Highlight any text on any window on the Mac, including a TextEdit document, words on a Web page or even the title of a file in Finder. To take up as little memory in the clipboard as possible, you can highlight a single letter, a space between two words or a punctuation mark. Press “Command” and “C” at the same time on the keyboard to copy the text to your clipboard.

I'm using Office 2003 with the 2007 comptaiblity program installed and running Win Xp Pro SP3. Hi Derek, I was using Ctrl+C. Thanks for your neat tip about the shift click on EDIT.

Cause: There are not enough columns to accept the information that you're trying to paste. Solution: Insert more columns, and then try pasting again.

How to wrap text on excel for mac. Answer:Select the merged cells that you wish to wrap text. See solution in other versions of Excel: • • • • • Question: How do I wrap text in merged cells in Microsoft Excel 2011 for Mac?

Open the Activity Monitor app 4. Type “pboard” into the search box at the top right 5. In the search results below, there should only be one result — a row listing the “pboard” process. Highlight it by clicking on it. Click the “x” button at the top left of the window which represents ‘quit this process’ Once you’ve done that, OS X will kill the faulty PBoard process and re-establish it with a fresh one automatically. Your clipboard should be back to normal. I have a suspicion that this stuck clipboard is a bug in OS X Mavericks 10.9 – I don’t recall it happening before I installed that.

Copy

So I opened the clipboard and saw that i had 24 items of the same one in the clipboard. Tried to Clear All but to no avail. Anyway, i did this. I clicked on an empty cell. And on the keyboard, i pressed Escape. And that fixed it.

I could even copy in the failing workbook and paste correctly in another one. It was only in the failing workbook that if I selected a cell (or a range of cells), copied them, and as soon as I clicked on a new cell the dashed lines would disapear and there was nothing left to paste. Same as the original post, I was able to copy and paste the text content from one cell to another.

But pasting wouldn't consider the visible cells and paste the number in hide cells also. Hope you understand my problem. Kindly provide the solution asap. This is solution to problem. Hi, I know i have to use just ctrl + C and ctrl + V.

I have seen this happen only a few times, I have never found a fix for it, only way I got was a work-around of moving the data into another sheet. Maybe this would work, open the sheet in OpenOffice program (), save it under a different name. Try opening it in Excel again.

And I am going to spend another extra 2 hours on my workbook now by clicking 'Paste special'->'Unformatted text' if I want to achieve something with this Office 2010 nonsense I wish my company would not sit in your pocket (or vice versa!) and would go for LibreOffice instead:'( Regards.

I copy several rows into the clipboard and the first cell of the first selected row is displayed in the Clipboard viewer. Later (seconds) when I attempt to insert the copied rows I right click on a row and 'Insert copied cells' is NOT there and Paste is disabled, yet the contents are still being displayed in the Clipboard viewer. If I click on the item in the Clipboard viewer a menu appears with Paste or Delete. If I click Paste, the rows are pasted in but all the formulas have been replaced with values (i.e. No more formulas) some of the characters are altered: What was a check mark character is now a lower case 'u' with umlauts.

In European countries, comma is used as the decimal symbol and the list separator is usually set to semicolon. For example, in North America you would write =IF(A1>0, 'OK', 'Not OK'), while European users of Excel should put the same formula as =IF(A1>0; 'OK'; 'Not OK').
