You might have seen Microsoft trumpet the new Smart Lookup feature, which pulls definitions and internet search results into a pane in the document, but it's not substantially different to the feature that lived in the floating toolbox in 2011. Computerworld downloaded and installed the public preview of Beta 3 Wednesday, and although Office for Mac 2016 applications had not crashed since, it was too early to call the problem solved. Compatibility Since the introduction of the document formats (namely.docx,.xlsx,.pptx, among others), compatibility between Mac and Windows versions has been excellent. The new document formats usher in an emphasized importance on document standards (although Microsoft still isn’t willing to move over to the OpenDocument formats). This is really good news since most documents that circulate now use one of these formats. Office 2008, for instance, came out a year after Office 2007 for Windows, yet it pretty much spurned the Office 2007 Ribbon-it did hint at it in a roundabout way-even though Microsoft had been busy pitching it as a much-needed revolution. Office 2011, on the other hand, has a Ribbon.

I recall using WordPerfect for this years ago while working on law review. I have long disliked Word for its complexity—with all its extraneous features, how odd it falls short here. Support for right-to-left languages is also absent. Outlook specifically does not support CalDAV or CardDAV, nor does it allow Cached Exchange Mode to be disabled. If you select a command, and it has a key assignment, the Customize dialog will tell you what it is. This is a better place to look than the Help, because users can (and should) change their keystrokes to suit themselves on either platform.
